The more support the shoe provides, the more stability it can give your natural stride. A combination of tailored support and intentionally placed cushioning helps you feel secure with every step. Peg 40 has neutral support. It provides balance whether you use the heel or forefoot. It's great for long and short runs, providing a smooth heel-to-toe transition.

The more cushioning you have under your feet, the smoother and more comfortable your running experience will be. The cushioning helps soften the impact when your feet hit the floor. Feel connected to the ground with Nike React technology, a lightweight, durable foam that delivers a smooth, responsive ride. It maintains its shape run after run for consistent feel.

Responsiveness: High

The more responsive the shoe, the more energy return you can get with each step. If you want to run a little faster or with a little less effort, responsive running shoes help give you a little more spring in your stride so you can get more out of your run. We combine Nike React technology with 2 Zoom Air units (1 in the forefoot and heel) to deliver a springy, flexible feel and energized toe feel.

We've increased the foam around the collar for better fit and comfort. And we've improved the interior linings and padding throughout for an ultra-soft fit.

Inviting Fit and Touch

A highly fitted single layer creates an inviting feel and fit. We've redesigned the midfoot band for a more molded fit around the foot, shaped for arches of all sizes.

Behind the scenes design

When we sat down to design the Peg 40, we took an inside-out approach, literally, starting with a band implemented in the midfoot for a more secure yet forgiving feel, as if the Peg was giving your arch a warm, gentle hug. We wanted to make the inner edges of the shoe comfortable, breathable and forgiving in the toe, arch and heel where your feet are most sensitive, with an engineered circular pattern that allows it to conform to your foot. The suede material allows for a better fit without irritation, from your first run to your last.
